LaShonna J.

Shreveport, LA
RN; Primary Care

I became a nurse because, for as long as I can remember, I have been a caregiver to others. And I have enjoyed it. When I started out in nursing, I was a single mother and I wanted a career that would allow me to provide for my child and also let me help others. Nursing is a career that has made it possible for me to do just that. I have worked at a Veterans Affairs (VA) hospital for 20 years. My first 18 years were as an LPN and the past 2 years have been as a registered nurse. I have a wide variety of nursing experience in medicine, surgery, orthopedics, urgent care, acute Care, and patients that require emergency treatment. Presently I am a staff nurse in Primary Care at a local VA medical center.
